Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA)
Inria center at Sophia Antipolis is hosting 38 research teams, providing a very attractive and stimulating environment for research in applied mathematics and computer science. A cluster of computers for intensive computation, an immersive room for high-quality rendering connected to a computer grid are available. The research centre is strongly connected to University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis. The ESR hosted at Inria will join the doctoral school of Mathematics of the university.

The LAAS (Laboratory of Analysis and Architecture of Systems) is a CNRS research unit of the University of Toulouse. The lab is offering a very rich environment for applied research, with a history of strong relationships with industry and works in a large number of collaborative projects with international, European, national and regional industries of all sizes.
Sorbonne Universite (SU)
SU is one of the leading French Universities in science and technologies. The department of Computer Science is involved in several national and international training programs for doctoral students offering various courses on computer science, innovation and management, intellectual property, etc. The ESR should also benefit from the exceptional scientific environment inside Paris with courses, seminars and conferences. The department, one of the largest in France, is offering a rich research environment, hosting almost 200 faculty members and approximately 220 PhD students.
Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI)
Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) is the national research institute for mathematics and computer science in the Netherlands. CWI is part of NWO-I, the Institutes Organisation of NWO, and is located at Science Park Amsterdam. The partners are connected to master programmes of doctoral schools in mathematics or computer science. The POEMA ESR will benefit from special courses offered at CWI in training additional competences, like presentation skills, English writing and speaking, communication skills, Dutch language and culture, and career training courses. There is a lively community of students and postdocs at CWI that regularly organizes social cultural and sportive activities to foster communication within the institute.
Stichting Katholieke Universiteit Brabant (UvT)
UvT team belongs to the internationally oriented research institute at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Tilburg University, covering all research fields in economics and business administration, and providing intensive graduate programs (research master and PhD) in economics and management. The ESR will benefit from the various courses offered by the university as well as the national LNMB and Mastermath programmes. UvT is fully equipped with an impressive array of computer facilities, databases and a state-of-theart laboratory where graduate students, faculty members and visitors can conduct experiments.
Universität Konstanz (UKON)
UKON is one of the eleven German Excellence Universities. The master's program of the department is very ambitious and offers special lectures well suited to doctoral students especially in the field of real algebraic geometry. These lectures are often delivered in English language. Doctoral students participate actively in weekly research seminars and colloquia. Konstanz is one of the world leading centers in Real Algebraic Geometry.
Università degli Studi di Firenze (UNIFI)
UNIFI is one of the largest organisations for research and higher education in Italy, with over 1900 tenured teaching staff and researchers, over 1600 permanent technical/administrative staff and language assistants and about 55 thousand students enrolled. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science ``Ulisse Dini'' of Università di Firenze counts 92 people, has 7 active research groups, organizing conferences, seminars, reading courses and scientific activity. It promotes a Doctoral program in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. It has a solid experience in hosting visiting professor and young researchers from all over the world.
University of Birmingham (UoB)
UOB is one of the strongest research-based Universities in the UK. The School of Mathematics has about 50 academic staff and 15 research staff, and offers a variety of research and taught postgraduate degree courses. The POEMA members of the Birmingham team are involved in undergraduate teaching of the optimization programme. The University’s IT Services provide high performance computing through the BlueBEAR Linux cluster with over 1500 processing cores and 150 TB of data storage. In 2018 the University is set to become part of The Alan Turing Institute playing a critical role in data science and AI research in the UK
Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU)
FAU is one of the largest universities in Germany and a top-ranking institution in cutting-edge research. It has the largest optimization groups in Germany. Large-scale computations can be carried out at the excellent HPC facilities at the FAU High Performance Computing Center (chairman: M. Stingl) with priority access to the Meggie (400 TFlop/s), Emmy (234 TFlop/s), and Lima (63.8 TFlops/s) compute clusters.
Universitet I Tromsø (UiT)
UiT is the third largest university of Norway. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has about 30 researchers active in areas ranging from algebra to statistics and offers high level master courses as well as specialised PhD courses. The POEME members in the Tromsø team are mainly involved in teaching pure mathematics such as algebra and topology but their research also covers applications.

Recognized as a world-class company in mathematical modelling and decision support, it offers an active environment related to project managements and software developments in Optimization.
